Congress Changes Hands

MELBOURNE, FL-Well the Republicans went down to defeat with yesterday's elections. They really don't have anyone to blame but themselves for a couple of reasons. First, the corruptions had run rampant and that just doesn't sit well with voters especially when the party is supposed to be ethical and concerned with family values. Second, they haven't accomplished very much legislatively. One would think that with the president and congress in the hands of the same party that much would get done but that didn't happen. At least nothing meaningful the impacts the electorate. Finally, Iraq continues to garner headlines with no end in sight.

Now with Jim Webb winning in VA, both chambers go to the Dems which should make for a very interesting two years running up to the Presidental election of 2008. Some things on the Democratic agenda are worthwhile but I for one do not look forward to increased taxes and regulation and the airwaves clogged with investigation after investigation. What has happened in the past is done and cannot be changed and now is not the time for a Democratic congress to impeach a Republican president. If that happens, the Dems might find themselves on the outside looking in again. Say, that might not be too bad after all!
