Movielog: Madea's Family Reunion

I had the opportunity to see Madea's Family Reunion this past Monday and it was a wonderful film for the whole family. Tyler Perry again did multiple roles in the film and pulled each of them off really well. Madea was a little over the top for me in the first film but in this one the balance was just right between being her crazy self and being a matriarch of the family.

The cast of the film was really great including Lynn Whitfield, Blair Underwood, Maya Angelou and Cicely Tyson (it's hard to believe that she is actually getting older but she hasn't missed a beat with her acting talent). Tyler Perry does an excellent job again in presenting some of the challenges of family life (this time between an engaged couple that involves domestic abuse and the dysfunction between a mother and her two daughters) and brings the plot twists to a conclusion without being too preachy.

I would give it three and half stars out of five.
